About LCR Digital
A studio built for ops that actually work
LCR Digital exists because too many operations teams are stuck between enterprise consultants who don't build and builders who don't understand operations. This is the middle ground: hands-on expertise that ships.
The Story
Why this studio exists
After years of watching operations teams struggle with disconnected systems—ERPs that don't talk to the warehouse, spreadsheets emailed around as "the source of truth"—I started LCR Digital to fix that specific problem.
The companies I work with aren't startups looking for the next shiny thing. They're established businesses with real complexity: multiple locations, physical goods, installation teams. They need systems that acknowledge messy reality.
I call the approach "ops-first data architecture." It means starting with how work actually flows—orders received, goods manufactured, trucks loaded, installations completed—and building the data layer to support those flows.
Lucas Ricardo
Principal Architect & Founder
I'm a systems architect who prefers building to presenting. My background spans data modeling, workflow automation, and application development—but what sets me apart is time spent in the operations world itself.
I've stood on factory floors watching how data actually gets entered. I've ridden along with installation crews. That context shapes everything I build.
Core competencies
Philosophy
Principles that guide the work
After building dozens of operations systems, some patterns become clear.
Build for Observability
Every system should answer 'what's happening right now?' without digging through logs. Visibility and audit trails are table stakes.
Design for the Real World
People work on the go. Internet connections drop. Users make mistakes under pressure. Systems should handle reality gracefully.
Separate Concerns, Connect Data
Good data architecture isn't just for enterprise. Even a small team benefits from clear layers and a single source of truth.
Embrace the Right Tool
Not everything needs custom code. Airtable is brilliant for orchestration. Glide ships faster than React for many use cases.
How I Work
A different kind of engagement
This isn't a large agency with layers of project managers. When you hire LCR Digital, you work directly with me. That means faster decisions, clearer communication, and someone accountable from discovery through delivery.
Limited Parallel Clients
I take on a small number of projects at any time—the only way to stay genuinely hands-on.
Discovery Before Diving In
Every engagement starts with understanding the actual problem, not the assumed solution.
Documentation as Deliverable
When I leave, you should be able to maintain and extend what was built.
Honest About Fit
Not every project is right for me. I'll tell you upfront if someone else would serve you better.
Engagement Model
From discovery to delivery
Every engagement is different, but most follow a similar arc.
Discovery
1-2 weeks
Deep dive into current operations, systems, and pain points.
Blueprint
1-2 weeks
Architecture design for the target state with clear rationale.
Pilot Build
4-8 weeks
Build a scoped pilot that proves the approach with real users.
Rollout
Variable
Expand the pilot to full scope with training and migration.
Stewardship
Ongoing
Ongoing support, monitoring, and evolution as operations grow.
A Note
Easy to work with. High bar for the work.
Technical excellence without collaboration is useless. I aim to be responsive, clear, and flexible on process while holding firm on quality. The goal is always a system you're proud of—one that makes operations easier, not harder.
Let's talk about your operations
Whether you have a specific project in mind or just want to explore what's possible, I'm happy to discuss your situation.
